'Ano'ai Kakou!
Well, it is now about 10:20pm on Tuesday, June 15th 2004. [*kneels down*] Forgive me father, for I have sinned...I have neglected my Xanga. It's been about a month since my last update [*stands up*]. That being said, the irony is that I'm not Catholic or Lutheran. Oh well, mei guanxi...it doesn't matter.
Okay, I guess it's finally my turn to write the old "Well, I'm finally home" weblog entry. Never mind the fact that I've been home for two and a half weeks. So...let's get this show on the road!
Hallelujah! I'm Home!!!
Alright...that being said...I can fill you guys in on what's been going on. Thanks to all you guys who keep my cell phone ringing and my inboxes full...if it wasn't for you guys I would be sufficating beneath my work. First off, no...as of right now, I do not have a summer job. Much to my dismay, that doesn't mean that I have time to catch up with old friends. But on the other hand, I've been having one hell of a time.
For all of you Hawai'i people...I'd like to introduce you all to some people.
These thirteen people were my fellow residence in the west side of the first floor of my building at P.L.U. (ACME named "Thug West"). They were a great bunch...we had people from all kine walks of life. A hippie from Alaska, a viking from Norway, and people from Japan, Korea, Cuba, and the world of the utter white people! It definitely was an interesting year...you haven't really lived until you've tried some of the other countries drinking games. They will mess you up! Of course, it didn't help that along with them came the smoking games. After seeing that, I'm glad I don't smoke...I've seen some mighty green people afterwards...LOL!
MOVING ON!
CONGRATS to the Class of 2004!!!
Now that summer is officially in full swing, I can give a blanket congrats to all of the graduates...both Elementary, Intermediate, High School, Undergrad, and Graduate alike. All of you guys worked hard to get where you are...congrats on making it...you all deserve it! To Noah, Darian, and Mel: remember guys...just because you guys are Ph.D.'s now doesn't mean that you guys should be know-it-all's. Plus...I can still kick all of your asses in Mah Jong!
Almos' Pau!...sorry so long!
Okay...since i've been home...i've been to a few graduations parties and what not. The hell with you all...you guys make me feel so damn old! Screw you! Nah nah...only joke! Nice job on your guys' parties...they were all pretty tight. Anywayz...like I said before...I ain't working. So...that leaves more time for my so called "obligations". My life has pretty much been filled with my return to hula, reading (Ka Baibala Hemolele -- which is completely uncharacteristic of me), writing proposals for my university, playing secretary/tech for my parents, cleaning, an obscene amount of studying, computer programming, and more and more work. WORK WORK WORK!!!
Hopefully things will slow down soon, that way I can actually get my life back. Well...I guess that's it for this installment of our favorite game show "How Much of a Slave Can You Be?!?" Thank you very much and g'nite!
E malama pono 'oe i kou kino! A hui hou i ka wa pono!
OH WAIT!!!
Before I lay this entry to rest, I wanted to remind or let everybody out there in Xanga-Land know about Ulukau: The Hawaiian Electronic Library. For a long time, people have been asking me where they can find Hawaiian language resources. Yes Bennie "Ball-Tapper", you shmuck, that would be Dolphin-speak resources!". If you want to find a good Hawaiian language dictionary, read some very old newspapers in Hawaiian, read a Hawaiian book, or even read the Bible in Hawaiian (Baibala Hemolele)...it's all available there. It's a beautiful set of resources. I've had the honor of meeting and working with some of these people and they are fantastic people. They are "Hale Kuamo'o, College of Hawaiian Language and the Native Hawaiian Library, Alu Like, Inc." It is not nearly as extensive as the U.S. Library of Congress...but it is definitely a valuable thing to have. PLUS...it is also a beautiful step forward...a step toward the revitalization of our 'olelo makuahine.
Ok...ok...ok...e kala mai ia'u! That's all I have. Take care...God bless...Good night! |
